Greater Glider (Petauroides volans, Pseydocheiridae - Ring-tailed Possums and Greater Glider) Blue Mtn's, NSW, Australia
The Greater Glider is a nocturnal inhabitant of old growth forests along the east coast of Australia. As its name suggests it can glide up to a 100m between trees. It is a large animal, the size of a cat, and feeds on leaves of Eucalyptus trees. The animal shown was found above our campsite in the western edge of the Blue Mountains, west of Sydney
