Yellow-footed Antechinus (Antechinus flavipes, Dasyuridae: Quolls, Antechinuses, Dunnarts etc.) Northeast Victoria, Australia
The yellow-footed Antechinus is a small mouse-sized predatory marsupial, usually nocturnal but this species is known to be active in daytime as here. It occur in the ranges of eastern Australia from the Queensland wet tropics to Victoria, and also in SW WA. Antechinus are famous for the fact that males are so vigorous in having sex that they all die! For a time each year the population consists only of pregnant females. See also vimeo.com/72129462
